In 1936 the diamond was embedded in the crown of Queen Elizabeth in honor of her coronation and since then it is on public display in the Jewel House at The Tower of London.

Many states, among them India and Pakistan, see themselves as the rightful owners of the Kohinoor and demand to return it immediately to their disposal.

Two days ago the diamond has disappeared from The Tower of London.
